Big Bear Lake, CA taxes are lower, but this is a beautiful place to get away from the City, during the week it is pretty much empty, the locals are okay, just as rough as anyone else. The City needs to clamp down on the homes in Big Bear City about junky front yards and the value would increase dramatically, I would like to see this place become more of a Mammoth, it could with the right city running it, overall it's a great place to live. It could use less short term rentals, but it's a catch 22, those homes are kept up. Love this place.
